How can you be sure that the
cotton is organic?
All Okarma’s products are SKAL certified,
which is the main internationally recognised certifier
of organic cotton. We also have an open supply chain,
which means that our cotton can be traced all the
way from the field to the store, and we work very
closely with our partners and suppliers to ensure
that everything is kept in the open.
Where is Okarma’s cotton
grown?
The Organic cotton used in Okarma is grown in the
region of Orissa in India. http://www.mapsofindia.com/maps/orissa/orissaagriculture.htm
Are the dyes used to colour
Okarma products organic?
At present, a very limited amount of organic
dyes are available to clothing manufacturers to use,
but as soon as it becomes viable for us to use organic
dyes we will do so. In the meantime, we ensure that
the dyes we use are as environmentally friendly as
possible. All dyes are Oeko-Tex approved and azo-free
and we take great care to avoid colours with the most
serious waste effects. Our factory also has an effluent
treatment plant which means that any waste water is
treated before being released.
What does Okarma mean?
The aim of Okarma is to provide the promotional

positive or negative depending on the original action.
We hope that Okarma will establish good environmental
Karma by leaving minimal impact on the natural world.

want to put out an positive message and places like
health food stores or organic cafes who are looking

an interest in Okarma.
